Can I use HSA/FSA funds to purchase an ergonomic office chair?
Can I use HSA/FSA funds to purchase an ergonomic office chair?
Updated over 2 weeks ago

The simple answer is: Yes!
The Anthros chair qualifies as specialized/ergonomic chair that could be used to help treat or mitigate a medical condition. Most customers that have used their HSA/FSA funds have gone through the following process:

  1. Call your administrator for their specific requirements.

  2. Get a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) that explains why the chair is needed. We have a physician who offers free LMN's to Anthros customers: https://www.anthros.com/hsa-fsa#book-a-call

  3. Purchase the Athros chair with a personal credit card and submit to the administrator with the LMN for reimbursement.

  4. If the reimbursement is denied, Anthros will provide a full refund, no questions asked.

    Pro Tips:

    • Reach out to your HSA/FSA administrator to find out what they will need to approve the purchase.

    • You can try using your HSA/FSA card, but Anthros is not a medical device and will not be recognized by most providers.
