Why does Custom cost more than Black if I configure the same options?

Great question. Even if you select an all-black configuration on the Custom side, there is a price difference because Custom chairs are built individually to order. Black chairs are batch-produced in standardized runs, which allows us to offer them at a lower price point. The Custom price reflects the flexibility and built-to-order craftsmanship of having a chair made specifically for you, on your timeline, with your choices — even if those choices happen to match the Black edition.
